The Fund for Alternative Journalism supports the future of local media by investing in community-based, public-interest journalism and investigative reporting. We are focused on alternative-weekly media outlets that have made us laugh, made us think, and connected us to arts, culture, politics, and civic life for decades.
As the Fund begins our work, we are initially supporting two leading alternative-weeklies, the Seattle-based Stranger and Portland-based Mercury. We plan to grow our work beyond these publications.
